About
Salt is the one-off effort of Lilian Tula, Lee Churn, Christopher Chatburn and Sophie Colverson for a project at the University of Portsmouth. It's a celebration of how we relish in the nitty gritty intricacies of design and a tribute to our fascination for process and technique. It’s a savoury spectacle that would bring salty tears of joy to even the driest eyes.
If you want to see what happened behind the scenes, please visit the Salt blog we so carefully contributed to throughout the duration of this collaboration.
Work
Salt in the Sky
An attempted viral meant that we generated more work than was humanely possible - this is one of those pieces. Flying salt isn't just flying salt. It's who we are and what we do.
Bleach Experiments
Bleaching was an interesting experience involving marigolds and a tatty dressing gown. The outcome was equally interesting, but not for the same reasons.

Colverson Sans
There's something personal about handmade fonts. This is probably why Colverson Sans appealed to us so much - we've all taken a highly personal approach to this project.

Collaboration
This piece started with Chris, and grew as it went around the group. We individually added our own twist to it, changing the theme as we went along.

Screen Printing
This is a page in our screen printing booklet we are particularly fond of. Acetate has been used a lot throughout our work and continues to be one of our favourite materials.

The Frisbees
We wanted merchandise for the summer but wanted to stay away from beach themes. And so the frisbee was born - the ultimate tool of procrastination for those long summer days.
